What does this working group do?

The Outreach Working Group is a group of volunteers who run creative writing and reading workshops in partnership with other local community organisations.

Currently, we run regular sessions with:

·       The Porch: a day centre for people who are experiencing homelessness or who are vulnerably housed

·       Fairfield Residential Care Home: an independent care home for the active elderly

·       Oxfordshire Mind: supporting people facing mental health difficulties

In the past, we have also worked with organisations supporting asylum seekers, young people, sexual health, and other centres for people who are homeless.

The Outreach Working Group regularly:

·       Engages with other organisations to understand the needs of their service users

·       Plans and delivers activities like workshops or reading groups

·       Collates and shares our library resources (books, activities, prompts, and reading resources)
