Meet the 2023-24 committee!

Phoebe, Chair, Treasurer, Volunteer Coordinator

I founded the library in 2017 with a vision of bringing poetry to the people. I’ve enjoyed my roles as chief cargo-bicycler, book-recommender, poetry workshop facilitator, and all-round word-nerd. I’m now driving forward the library’s new vision as it makes its home in the new Community Works space.

I also write the volunteer newsletter and help volunteers get involved – whether it’s being a librarian for a day, submitting poetry recommendations, or driving forward a project. If you’d like to play a more active part in the library, talk to me at oplvolunteer@gmail.com – we can make it happen!

Jack, Secretary

I check the library works within its
Remit and constitutional limits;
I do occasional tweeting
And attend every meeting
To write down (and type up) the minutes.

Rowena, Projects & Safeguarding

I help plan and execute OPL initiatives and collaborations. As Safeguarding Officer, I was excited to protect OPL’s hidden vault of jewels and riches. Instead, I’m responsible for welfare concerns about children and vulnerable adults. But seriously, if anything concerns you during OPL activities, come to me (my email is rowena@oxfordpoetrylibrary.com). I’ve even got a certificate from the council.

Miriam, Deputy Safeguarding Officer

I’m around to help out and support Rowena with any safeguarding issues! Got something to chat about or worried about any safeguarding matters? Drop me a line at miriam@oxfordpoetrylibrary.com

Cesca, LIT Liaison officer

I help coordinate LIT reading group, our fortnightly reading and writing group for women and other minority genders, alongside our fabulous ComLITee. Do get in touch with me if you’d like to come along!

Shaw, Social Media Rep

I help manage the Library’s digital presence and gatekeep our memes. I like poems about the Internet very much and wish there were more. Please follow us!
