Lucia Cernadas: An evening of Galician poetry

On June 12th at 7pm at Oxford Poetry Library (The Community Works, 21 Park End St, OX1 1HU), join us for an evening of Galician poetry.

Galician poet and lecturer Lucia Cernadas presents “O corpo é umha promessa” (The Body is a Promise), her latest collection, published by the independent Galician publisher Rodolfo e Priscila. This short piece, organised as a calendar, deals with the transformation of landscapes and promises, with how bodies connect and express themselves, with the dialogue between desire and absence, creating a unique journey of discovery. The event will feature a reading of some of the poems in both Galician and English by Lucia joined by the Irish translator Patrick Loughnane, some creative writing games, opportunity for questions and conversation, time for drinks and mingling, and signed copies of the collection available for purchase.
