LIT Reading Group: Poetry Salon at the Old Fire Station

Dig out your favourite notebook and your most trusted ink pen: on 1st July, it’s poetry night at the Old Fire Station!
Session theme: Poetry Salon
Salon noun
– a gathering space for creative folk
Inspired by the OPEN Salon-style exhibition currently on at the OFS, we will be using ‘salons’ and their ethos as a jumping off point.
Using the gallery as our creative inspiration, we will look at the history of ‘salons’, play some writing games, create poetry and share our work.
All levels of writing experience are welcome.
About LIT:
LIT is a reading and writing group for cis and trans women, trans men, non-binary people, and people of other marginalised genders to share their own work and the work of others. We take the broadest, most inclusive interpretation of what this means- if you feel like you might fit with us, you probably do!
We are a group of writers who host monthly sessions around different themes. We meet online every third Monday of the month, and host one-off in person events and collaborations.
For more information about us, you can read our statement of aims and values here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/223789834941256 or email francesca_moll@hotmail.co.uk to request to join our WhatsApp group.
