Lewis Buxton: Boy Poems

November 6, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Free – £12

Join Lewis Buxton at Oxford Poetry Library for an evening of poetry and spoken word.

Blending poetry, comedy and storytelling, Buxton explores all the different types of boy you can be – tender, awful, thoughtful, vulnerable. Here, a maelstrom of mental health, male bodies, and sexuality is laid bare with wit and curiosity, and the complexity and multiplicity of gender itself is revealed. These poems are provocative, nuanced and often laugh-out-loud funny, shining with a naked, shameless brilliance.

The reading will take place on November 6th from 7.30pm at The Community Works, OX1 1HU. Tickets are ‘pay what you can’ on a sliding scale from £0-£12 – book here.

The Oxford Poetry Library is an accessible space but please do contact us in advance if you have any access needs, or have any other questions on oxfordpoetrylibrary@gmail.com.
