Purpose

To help run the library and associated activities at our pop-up appearances at festivals, events, street fairs, and carnivals

Activities

  • Greeting and welcoming browsers and readers
  • Helping them find books
  • Checking books in and out
  • Helping to run any associated activities which in the past have included collage-poetry, black-out poetry, magnetic poetry activities, badge-making etc

 

Skills and abilities needed

  • to have a friendly and welcoming manner
  • to enjoy helping others
  • to be able to work in a team with other volunteers
  • a knowledge of poetry is helpful but certainly not required and can be picked up on the job

Timings and Locations

Various timings and locations depending on our calendar, but previous events have included Big Green Day Out, Cowley Road Carnival, Tandem Festival, Great British Bike Off, and Elder Stubbs Festival.

Events are usually on weekends, during the day.
