SUMMARY:Page to Stage Workshop
DESCRIPTION:If you’d like to learn how to take poetry and writing off the page and onto the stage with skill and confidence\, Page to Stage is the place for you. \nThis mini-series of performance training workshops covers some key skills you’ll need to perform writing for an audience. We’ll be focusing mainly on poetry\, but if you have something else in mind\, please contact us to check in. \nIt will be a welcoming and inclusive space\, particularly suited those who are starting their journeys or have a little experience and want to step it up. \nYou’re welcome to attend just one or the whole set to have more time and space to hone your craft. \nSessions will be led by Lorna Burchell\, professional storyteller and performance poet. \nSession time: Two hours \nParticipant numbers: Limited to 10 \nPrice: Free\, but booking is essential here \n  \nSession 3: Performance skills + and coaching workshop \nThis is either for folk who’ve attended previous sessions and would love some more practice\, or those at any stage of experience who’d like to join for some further practice and performance coaching. Each performer will have 5 minutes of live coaching to try out the practical techniques that we cover. \nWe’ll cover further aspects of performance including: \nGaze\, silence; gesture; ways in and out (take offs and landings); memorising and practising; responsibility for the audience; how to deal with nerves; how to find your way back from difficulty; maintaining confidence and inspiration. \nYou’ll need: your own text if you have one (but we’ll provide one if you don’t!)
