Borrowing, Renewing, Returning

Browse our full catalogue here.

For existing borrowers, here’s a little reminder about how we work to make sure our books circulate at a happy and healthy rate, reaching as many people as possible…

Borrowing books:

You can browse our full collection on our online catalogue at http://opl.librarika.com You can also reserve or request books by emailing oxfordpoetrylibrary@gmail.com, or by going to the book’s entry on the catalogue and clicking “Request” and noting when/where you would like to pick the book up. We will then make sure to bring that book along to that venue at the time specified for you to collect it. To borrow from the library, come see us at any of our venues and browse the collection! There is no limit to the number of books you can borrow at any time.

Renewing books
:

If you’d like to keep your books a bit longer, or you’ll be unable to return them in time, you can renew them by dropping us an email at oxfordpoetrylibrary@gmail.com – just let us know which book(s) you have and we’ll extend your loan for another 2 weeks.

Returning books
:

Please return books within 2 weeks of checking them out. You can drop your books off at any of our appearances. We have a little family of black-and-purple dropboxes where you can return your books:

Central Oxford:
We have a dropbox where our collection is currently housed in The Community Works on 21 Park End St (opposite the train station and Said Business School). Whenever the centre is open, you can swing by and drop books off in this box:

East Oxford:
We have a dropbox at Flo’s Place in the Park in Florence Park (mounted on the wall on the left next to the main door to the reception), open for you to drop off your books whenever the gate to Flo’s is open – 8.30am to 5.30pm every day.

North and Central Oxford:
We have a drop-box at Makespace Oxford on Aristotle Lane (on the wall closest to you as you enter the car park, next to the right-hand door) where you can drop off your books.

South Oxford:
Whether the library is at the market or not, our drop-box is at any South Oxford market. So look out for the postbox (pictured below) and just drop your books in.

If a book is not renewed within two weeks and is returned late, we don’t charge late fines or fees, but do ask that you consider making a donation (however small!) to the library to help us keep our wheels turning!

Losing books:

If you lose a book, we do ask a fee of £7 as a replacement charge. This will go towards replacing the book and/or the general upkeep of the library.
